Here in NV most bibs are real low to the ground in order to run the gate way under the house, making it a real pita to attach a hose straight on..

Those are the good ones...you can see 'em

it's the frost free one's that burst inside wall.
they don't spray/pour until you open the valve.

always, ALWAYS, ALWAYS kink your hose and check for back pressure regardless of season

How would that tell you if there is a leak under the house?

Put your adapter on and leave it shut off.
Open the faucet.
If you hear water running it is leaking behind the wall.

Nothing worse than having to do a water restoration job after your regular scheduled job.

Hmmm..

My hearing aides aint that good..

Soo glad I don't have to worry about that here..

Now I have flooded my share of kitchens and bathrooms while using a portable in my teen years..:shifty:

Frozen broke/split valve isn’t “under” the house.
The split is anywhere from 2 to 12” directly behind the wall .

If split beyond that point, the homeowner would know and already be flooded.

Frost free valve split will be between the shut off handle and the rubber washer gasket on the end of valve
(Which is 6 to 12” inside)
They come in different lengths depending on home construction and location

You’ll know immediately if split by kinking the hose.
There will be no back pressure on the kinked
